The Assessment Process

We guide your family through a collaborative journey to understand your loved one's unique strengths and needs.

1

Initial Contact

We begin with a conversation to learn about your concerns, goals, and what you hope to achieve. We'll answer your questions and determine whether a comprehensive behavior assessment is appropriate.

2

Information Gathering

We review relevant records and gather information through interviews with the individual, family members, caregivers, or other members of the support team, as appropriate.

3

Assessment

A licensed behavior analyst conducts the assessment using observations, interviews, standardized tools (when appropriate), and functional assessment methods to understand strengths, needs, and environmental factors that may be influencing behavior.

4

Recommendations

You'll receive individualized recommendations based on the assessment findings. These may include behavioral strategies, skill-building supports, environmental modifications, caregiver training, referrals, or ABA therapy when appropriate.

5

Next Steps

We review the results together, answer your questions, and develop a plan that fits your goals. Whether services continue with Apex or another provider, you'll leave with a clear understanding of recommended next steps.

Why a Behavior Assessment Matters

The right support begins with the right understanding.

A behavior assessment provides a deeper understanding of an individual's strengths, needs, and the factors influencing behavior. Rather than focusing only on challenging behaviors, the assessment helps identify opportunities to build skills, increase independence, and improve quality of life.

Whether you're seeking answers for a child, teen, or adult, the assessment provides a roadmap for meaningful, individualized support that fits everyday life.
